Questions, answered
Everything about Caffo's economy, running a city and your privacy.
Playing
How does the game work?
Everyone starts with nothing. Earn coins from shifts, dailies and quests, then open your own coffee stall. Customers come every hour; upgrades and boosts bring more. A little tax on every earning goes to your server's treasury, which admins spend on buildings that help everyone.
How does my stall earn?
Customers come every hour, each spending a little. How many changes from hour to hour, more for a small stall than a big one. Upgrades bring more customers or bigger orders, and boosts help for a busy spell. Collect at least every 8 hours, or your stall stops filling up.
Does progress carry between servers?
Your coins, café, achievements, quests and streaks belong to you, the same in every server. Levels belong to each server.
For server owners
How do we get started?
Add Caffo, try /tutorial yourself, then use /settings or the dashboard to choose leaderboard visibility, tax, a progression channel and a mod-log channel.
Can we keep our server off the leaderboards?
Yes, and that's the default. New servers are hidden until an admin picks Ranked or Public with /settings or the dashboard. You can also hide just your treasury.
Can admins take coins out of the treasury?
No. Treasury coins only pay for buildings. Nobody can withdraw them, admins included.
What permissions does it need?
View channels, send messages, embed links and read message history to play. Manage messages, timeout, kick and ban members are only used by the moderation commands, which only your staff can run.
Does it work alongside other bots?
Yes. It uses its own slash commands. Already have a moderation bot? Caffo's moderation commands simply stay unused.
Privacy and pricing
Is Caffo free?
Yes. Everything is free while Caffo is in development. Later, optional premium features and cosmetics will be for sale, but nothing for sale ever buys coins or rank.
Does Caffo read our messages?
No. For chat XP it only counts that a message was sent (at most once every 2 minutes). It doesn't ask for access to message content.
What do you keep about me?
Your Discord ID and what you do in the game. The Privacy Policy has the details, and /privacy lets you choose what others can see.
